About Arp Hansen Hotel Group Hvidovre
Arp Hansen Hotel Group is a hotel chain founded in 1960 by the master builder of the brand, Alf Arp-Hansen. A hotel and accommodation brand that is created to suit all tastes and budgets, you can find a luxury accommodation or a budget room perfect for a weekend getaway from Arp Hansen’s roster of accommodations.
Arp Hansen purchased the Gentofte Inn in Copenhagen, refurbished it and became the flagship hotel of the Arp Hansen brand, Gentofte Hotel. Reopened in 1961, it was the beginning of the city’s largest hotel chains Denmark has at present. Further expansions were embarked by the brand’s founder. By 1971, he managed to convert an unused spice warehouse built in 1804 to the first ever waterside warehouse hotel in Germany - 71 Nyhavn Hotel. This immediately created a following among Danish and other foreign travelers frequenting the city.
The hotel chain was eventually passed on in 1998 after the death of Arp Hansen. Henning Arp Hansen and Birger Arp Hansen took over the legacy. By 2003, the brothers opened the Copenhagen City Hall Square Hotel to provide travelers with a cozy escape in the buzzing metropolis. The brand currently offers 4,350 rooms in different locations in Aarhus and Copenhagen.
