Anshan: A Religious Retreat in the City
Anshan, China is a city located at the heart of Liaoning Province and was once part of a fortification built by the Ming Dynasty between 1368 and 1644. Years after its destruction from the Russo-Japanese War in 1904, the city became an industry for steel. Today, it holds one-third of the world's supply of talcum and one-fourth of the world's reserves of magnesite. It is also home to the largest jade stone that is carved as a Buddha. Anshan's nearest airport is Anshan Teng'ao Airport (AOG), 8 miles away.
