Ariccia: A Geographical Magnificence Between Two Volcanic Lakes
Ariccia is one of the Castelli towns and a commune in the Metropolitan City of Rome. It played an important part in the Pre-Roman and Roman mythology and has been a favorite summer residence of popes and the elites in the Middle Ages. At present, it is known for its slowly roasted pork called porchetta and wines. Fiumicino-Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (FCO) is one of the major airports serving Ariccia.

To reach Ariccia, one option is to take a subway metro to Anagnina and take bus at CoTral bus terminal. The most ideal weather of the town falls from May to July when it has a warm weather suited for traveling. Apart from the yuletide season, Porchetta Festival is also celebrated on December at Ariccia because of its famous pork delicacy.

There are several main sites that should not be missed when visiting Ariccia. Among them is the Palazzo Savelli Chigi built by Bernini Fontana that has been featured in different movies and popular for its paintings, sculptures and other exhibitions. Another work of Bernini is the Santa Maria Assunta inspired from the restoration of the Pantheon. Another site that exudes an exquisite architectural design is the Fontana Dell’Acqua Paola.
One of its renowned city hotels, Hotel Villa Aricia, features an old-world style and a few miles away from Albano Laziale Train station and Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. Not far from the palace is a luxurious hotel that offers state of the art aesthetics known as Hotel Castel Vecchio. There is also Villa Robinia with a simple and affordable accommodation and is 1.2 miles from Lake Albano and Lake Nemi.
