Meadows Field Airport – BFL California
Otherwise known as Kern County Airport #1, Meadows Field Airport is considered as the main airport for Bakersfield, California. It is situated in Oildale. The airport was constructed in 1926 as a commercial airport. It covers around 1,357 acres and has two asphalt runways. The main runway can handle Boeing 747 while the other runway handles regional jets. As of 2011, Meadows Field Airport has an average of 359 flights per day. Currently, the airport is owned by Kern County and is operated by the Department of Airports.

Meadows Field Airport is estimated to serve around 500,000 passengers annually. The airport has two main terminals that are open from 4 AM until 1:30 AM daily. The domestic terminal has four gates and usually caters to United Express Airlines and US Airways Express. The other terminal is for international flights. The airport also offers shuttle services for its passengers that will take them to nearby cities such as Fowler or Grangeville. Passengers can avail of the shuttle service parked in front of the airport's parking lot.
