Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) is an international airport in Seawell, Christ Church, Barbados. BGI serves as the only primary port of entry for visitors flying in and out of Barbados. It is also referred to as the gateway to the Eastern Caribbean. This major airport was marked as the Caribbean’s 8th busiest airport and 3rd busiest in the Lesser Antilles next to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport and Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport in Guadeloupe. BGI attends to over two million passengers annually.

BGI-Barbados was originally named Seawell Airport and was changed in 1976 to honor Grantley Herbert Adams, the first Premier of Barbados. BGI Airport offers flights to the cities of Bridgetown, Garrison Historic Area, and Haggatt Hall. It has direct flights to the US, Central America, Canada, and Europe. BGI-Barbados continues to be a significant airlink for passengers arriving and leaving at the Port of Bridgetown.
