Bournemouth Airport – BOH
The Bournemouth Airport formerly known as Hurn Airport and Bournemouth International Airport, is an airport in southern England. The airport is located 6.5 km north-northeast and serves Bournemouth, England, United Kingdom and the nearby towns. The Bournemouth Airport, whose airport code is BOH, dates back to 1941 as its date of opening with the name RAF Hurn. Served as a military facility but was given to civil control in 1944. It was the only international airport during that time but not until the opening of Heathrow Airport also in 1944. In December 2017, the airport was bought by Regional & City Airports (RCA).

BOH-Bournemouth Airport was the airfield which took over Bristol City’s Whitchurch Airport as the main base of British Overseas Airways Corporation in 1944. The airline transferred base to Heathrow Airport in 1948. Before this, in 1946 PanAm opened a scheduled flight service in 1946 from New York to London. The airport handled the first charter flight in 1958. Starting 1951 the airport had been an aircraft manufacture site that produced 647 aircraft until 1984. There was new ownership of the airport in 1969 and in 1980 the airport became a commercial facility. As of 2019, the airport was ranked 5th in UK for customer satisfaction by Which magazine. Totton and Swanmore are the best places close to the airport.
