Bolu: A Gift of Nature

It is ideal to visit Bolu during the months of April through October, for the best weather. Tourists usually flock the province during the months of January, March, and August. People are least likely to visit in December, of which tourists may take advantage. Rates usually become lower during this month. Every late September, Mengan Cooks and Tourism Festival is held. Mengan is known as a great culinary destination in the country, thanks to its homegrown chefs who train at Mengen Meslek Yuksekokulu.
What to Do & Area Attractions
When in the province, tourists should see Yedigoller National Park or Seven Lakes National Park. It is famous for the seven (7) surrounding lakes, which have been formed by landslides over the years. Around since 1965, the park offers vegetation like beech trees, elms, hazelnuts, hornbeams, oaks, among others. Wildlife such as brown bears, red deer, roe deer, wild boars, and wolves are also present. Another interesting attraction is Akkaya Travertines, which has potable soda water coming out from the natural formation process. There is also a huge swimming pool inside where guests could take a break and relax.
