Bratislava Airport – BTS Bratislava
The Bratislava Airport is found just a few km from the city center of Bratislava, Slovakia. It is considered the main international airport in the country. It is also called MR Stefanik Airport. It was named after a general whose aircraft crashed near the airport in the early 1900s. Before 2014, the airport was operated by a private company. It was turned over to the Slovak Government. Today it is now run by the Ministry of Transport, Construction, and Regional Development. This is also being used as a home of Slovak Government Flying Service.
Best Time to Visit
In 1923, the first flight from Prague to Bratislava happened through the Czechoslovak Airlines. This happened in the old airport located in Vajnory. In 1948, the construction of the new airport began and it is fully operational after three years. The highest recorded number of passengers is more than 2 million. All of this happened in 2018. The current terminal of the BTS-Bratislava Airport has around 29 check-in counters. The airport also has 13 gates overall. The city of Dornbach, and Rodaun in Austria can also be accessed by Vienna International Airport.

The airport is near Vienna International Airport (VIE). Both airports are serving cities like Helmahof and Leopoldsdorf.
