Brunei International Airport – BWM
Owned by the Government of Brunei and operated by the Department of Civil Aviation, the Brunei International Airport is a public airport, serving as the primary gateway via air of the country. It can be found in the city of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei and serves all of Brunei. This international airport was actually the result of the increasing air travel demand in the country in the 1970s. The former airport, which was a World War II-era runway built by the Japanese, was accommodating too much traffic beyond its capacity. To answer the demand, the BWM-Brunei International Airport was opened in Mukim Berakasin in 1974.
