Ciudad Madero is the 7th most popular and 3rd largest city under the Tampico Metropolitan having a land area of 46.6 km sq. and a population of 209,175 in the 2015 census. It is a maritime city that lies in the southeast part of Tamaulipas of the Mexican gulf. The city acts as the oil refining center of Mexico. Its gateway is through General Francisco Javier Mina Airport (TAM) at Tampico, Tamaulipas, which is 5 minutes away from the city.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Ciudad Madero is during its ideal vacation months, which is in May, April, and December. Also, the busiest months are in January, June, and July so the prices of hotels are most expensive during this time. On the other hand, it is not commendable to visit the city during September because of humidity.
