The best time to visit Coatepec is during the months of October through April, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually January through March. Tourists are least likely to visit in December. One of the most popular events in the municipality is Feast of Coatepec, which is held every September 30. It is the feast day of the municipality’s patron saint, St. Jerome. The San Jeronimo International Festival is held concurrently. Another event to look forward to in the area is Carnaval de Veracruz, which is held every February. Held for 9 days, it is the biggest and most popular carnival in Mexico.
