Comiso: A Scenic Adventure to the Wild
Comiso, Italy is one of the communes located in Ragusa, Sicily in the southern portion of the country. The region is sometimes mistaken with the ancient Greek region of Casmene. The region was originally a borough during the Byzantine period that eventually grew to areas in Aragonese and Norman. Further expansion built the new district outside the ancient walls of the region. The region was devastated back in 1693 and was rebuilt on the same spot of the ruins, still in the Sicilian Baroque style. The region is home to the Hot Springs, one of the oldest mosaics dating from the 2nd century.
