Conegliano: Home of the Finest Prosecco
Conegliano, Italy is a town in Treviso. In 2019, Le Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is widely known for its wine, particularly the dry white Prosecco. It is also home to the oldest and most prestigious Italian wine school, Scuola Enologica. Its patron saint is St. Leonardo.

The perfect time to visit Conegliano is during the months of April through July, for the best weather. Peak tourist season is usually during the months of April, May, and July. Tourists are least likely to visit in November. One of the most exciting events in town is Dama Castellana, which is held every June. It is a special chess or dama game where real people play as the game pieces.

One of the most famous attractions in town is Conegliano Castle. Only the bell tower remains of the original structures in the complex. It is home to the Civic Museum of Conegliano, which is dedicated to the town’s local history. The museum features archaeological finds, coins, detached frescoes, documents, furnishings, maps, paintings, pamphlets, prints, tombs, and weapons. Another interesting site to visit in town is Conegliano Cathedral, which is of architectural and religious significance.
