Dundee Airport- DND Airport
Dundee Airport - DND Airport is the public airport of Dundee, Scotland established for the civil use. There is significant air traffic in this airport led by charter planes and private aircrafts during international gold competitions which is usually held at the nearby championship courses in St. Andrews, Gleneagles and Camoustie. It is also surrounded by nearby cities/towns such as Comely Bank, Nine Mile Burn and South Queensferry. Aside from the private transport and one passenger airline operating in DND airport, Tayside Aviation, which has a training facility and engineering workshop, is also situated in the airport.
Best Time to Visit
Previously, DND airport was operated by the city council but later was transferred to Highlands and Islands Airports Limited in 2007. Additional restriction was also added including limiting the aircraft landing to only regional aircrafts, as larger aircrafts require longer runways. Currently, there is only one runway in DND airport measuring 1,400 meters with asphalted surface. Loganair to London-Stansted is the only airlines in operation in this airport as many ceased their operations. However, heavy traffic is still observed on golf seasons.
