The airport occupies land that measures 888 acres. It has two runways, both with an asphalt surface. Runway 2/20 measures 6,201 feet long and runway 14/32 measures 4,001 feet long. The airport land was first purchased back in 1942 and the airport was dedicated on October 1943. Regular flight services were offered in the airport since the 1940s. There were multiple daily flights but all of this ceased in June 2008. No commercial airline service has been offered since then. The airport still offers general aviation services of which nearby areas can avail of including Contoocook, Greenfield, and Hopkinton, to name only a few.
