The census-designated place of Fayetteville is under the rule of the Talladega County and houses a little over a thousand residents. Back in 1836, the families of the Tennessee Troops and Andrew Jackson's force created a settlement in the area and named the town after the troop’s home town in Tennessee. Fayetteville covers about 51 square kilometers of land. Fly into the city via the Thomas C. Russell Field Airport, Anniston Municipal Airport, and Birmingham International Airport, all of which are about 40-60 minutes away from Fayetteville, Alabama.
