Fairmont Municipal Airport is a public airport situated 2.3 miles southeast of the city center of Fairmont, Minnesota which is a part of Martin County. The City of Fairmont owns the airport and was opened in 1951. Fairmont is also known as the City of Lakes. Because of its scenic lakes, the city is visited by many tourists as it offers recreational activities. There are five lakes in the city that are best for swimming, water skiing, pleasure boating, and fishing.
