Grogol: A Gorgeous Traditional Place
Grogol is a small village located in the district of Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Indonesia. Grogol, Indonesia only has 25 hectares of land allocated by the government of Jakarta in 1952. One of the most notable events in Grogol is the flooding crisis in February 1960 that, despite the government's conscious effort to prevent flooding, the residential area was still flooded up to the waist.
Best Time to Visit
The warmest and most pleasant weather in Grogol is from July to September, where flooding won't be an issue during the vacation. However, Grogol ID hotels are more ready to accept guests every February because of the massive Chinese New Year Festival. This is a 3-day celebration in the streets of Grogol, with lion and dragon dance competitions, and local street foods displayed all around the village.
