Haneda International Airport – HND Tokyo, Japan
Formally known as Tokyo International Airport, Haneda Airport is less than 30 minutes south of central Tokyo, Japan. With a code HND, Haneda Airport serves more domestic flights, and a few international flights. Considered as Japan's busiest airport, it is included in the five busiest airports around the world. Often called “Comfort City Airport,” it opened in 1931.
Best Time to Visit
When the Narita Airport opened in 1978, HND-Haneda Airport was assigned to handle majority of Tokyo’s domestic air traffic but in 2010 Haneda resumed catering to international flights upon the completion of a new runway and a new international terminal building.HND Airport handles more than 60 million passengers per year.The airport’s two runways are for international use while the two others are for domestic flights by two of Japan’s biggest airlines. Only a few minutes away from the city center, Haneda Airport is conveniently accessible to Tokyo as well as other cities in the Greater Tokyo area like Kawasaki, Chofu and Mitaka.

Within the premises of the airport's three terminals are hotels like the cozy The Royal Park Hotel Tokyo Haneda, the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu and the charming Urbain Tokyo Haneda Kamata. Other lodgings within close proximity are Keikyu EX Inn Haneda Airport, Hotel JAL and City Haneda Tokyo which provide free shuttle service to and from the airport between 4pm and around midnight.
The NRT-Narita International Airport is Tokyo’s other airport. It is located more than 76 kilometers awayand caters to more international flights.
