Located west downtown of Wichita, Kansas, Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport is considered the busiest and the biggest airport in Kansas that covers 3,248 acres of land. It has an airport code of ICT, which also serves as the city’s nickname. The airport is the main manufacturing plant and headquarters of Cessna Aircraft Company as well as the service center of Bombardier Learjet. It was initially named Wichita Mid-Continent Airport and was renamed in 2014 as Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in honor of the 34th US president Dwight D. Eisenhower who was a native of the Kansas State.

Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport’s old terminal with two concourses was closed and demolished in June 2, 2015 to fully utilize the new terminals that was opened in June 3, 2015. The new terminals has modern architectural design with modern elements like a separate terminal roadway for private and commercial car, huge terminal ticketing and baggage claim, 12 boarding gates and 16 boarding bridges, expanded parking areas, free Wi-Fi and many more. The airport offers flights to seven airlines to more than 20 destinations that include nearby cities such as the Park City, Derby and Andover.
