Izumo Airport – IZO Izumo
Izumo Airport takes its name from where it is located, Izumo, Japan. It is half an hour from the city center of Matsue or central Izumo. It is known as Izumo Airport of Romantic Fate or Izumo En-Musubi Airport. It opened in June 1966 and it was during that time that it started its scheduled service daily. Shimane Prefecture runs the operation of the airport.

IZO-Izumo Aiport has a single asphalt concrete runway measuring 6,562 feet in length. Based on 2015 statistics from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the airport served 832,825 passengers, 1,066 cargos and 11,957 aircraft movements. The airport handles Fuji Dream Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Japan Airlines operated by J-Air and Japan Air Commuter. The airlines serve domestic flights to and from Nagoya-Komaki, Sendai, Shizuoka, Tokyo-Haneda, Osaka-Itami, Fokuoka and Oki. It is equipped with three jet bridge gates. It has its customs and immigration facilities for international charter flights. Within the airport premises is the Shimane Prefectural Police. Only bus services are available in the airport and the nearest railway is 10 minutes away. Daikon Island and Matsue are two of the nearest cities in the airport.

It has been an excellent choice for Izumo travelers, may they be exploring the area or just passing through.
