It is home to whopping 77 high schools and five colleges, exclusive of the 15 higher education institutions in the town. Kherson is served by the Kherson Airport (KHE), which connects the city to several international destinations, including Poland, Austria, Egypt, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
Best Time to Visit
Every August, Kherson hosts the Sweet Wonder Festival, featuring the town’s famed watermelons. The activity, which has been celebrated for almost two decades now, attracts a few thousand tourists and locals to the area. The summer season is almost ending by this time of year, but the tourist population is still at its highest, especially since the fall season, the busiest season for the town, is just beginning. That said, expect relatively more expensive Kherson, Ukraine hotels.
