Koror: Exploring the Quaint Island City in the Pacific Ocean
The island of Koror, which is previously called Corrora, is one of the Caroline Islands under the rule of the country of Palau. It is located in the western section of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of the island of Babelthuap. Koror was considered the provisional capital of the country up until 2006 when Melekeok was declared the new capital. Koror, Palau is served by Palau International Airport, which is the main airport in the country and located just 15 minutes away from the city. You can find a handful of hotels and inns dotting the town.
Best Time to Visit
Koror is marked with hot weather all-year-round with slight chances of rain every now and then. That said, the best time to visit the island is by late December when the weather is mostly perfect for outdoor activities. This, however, is also the second busiest month for tourism in the country, so expect the majority of Koror, Palau hotels to be booked by then. Meanwhile, if you visit the country in the fall, there are fewer tourists around.
