Loudi: Long Live Chinese History
One of the top ten livable cities in China, Loudi, is an industrial town with a huge historical significance. The long list of the town’s history include it being the God of War Chi You’s and Qing Dynasty statesman Zeng Guofan’s hometown and being the birthplace of Huxiang Culture. Aside from its history, Loudi, China’s geographical location having been surrounded by mountainous regions also contribute to the city’s growing tourism.
Best Time to Visit
Loudi, China has a prevalent monsoon season with the four very distinctive seasons. Occasional heavy downpours of rain are expected especially during spring to early summer while snow falls on winter. Otherwise, you can see the sun shining brightly. Most visitors come during summer time in the middle of the year when it is the warmest. In order to avoid the frantic crowds, it is best to visit during late September to early October when there are lesser people coming and Loudi hotels are cheaper.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Situated at the base of Mount Dacheng, the Boyue Cave is a popular choice for cave explorers and hikers. It is also a national park where you can admire the diverse flora and fauna collection of the town. You can also immerse yourself in the cold waters of Ziyun Valley Waterfall Group just outside of the city. Another fascinating attraction is the Shuangqing Lake wherein you can have a peaceful afternoon while waiting for the sunset.
A few kilometers from the city center, you will find many amazing Loudi hotels. Kaixuan Hotel is conveniently surrounded by many shopping districts. A five-star hotel nearby is the InterContinental Shijiazhuang. Metropolo Shijiazhuang Yuhua Wanda Plaza is also a great option.
