The Michigan Science Center stands on what was once the Detroit Science Center. The Detroit Science Center officially closed in 2011 and has been replaced with the Michigan Science Center, which opened in December of 2012. It is a non-profit organization located in Detroit, Michigan that helps to inspire minds of all ages to appreciate science, engineering, math, and technology all in a dynamic and interactive learning environment. The science center houses the only IMAX theatre in the city, called the Chrysler IMAX Dome Theatre. It also has plenty of other exhibits that are sure to spark the interest of visitors of all ages.

The Michigan Science Center is ideally located and easily accessible even from nearby cities. Livingston is only 54 minutes away from the science center. Even Unionville is only a 2-hour drive away. Once finished with exploring all the exhibits at the science center, there are still plenty of things to do in Detroit. Best of all, it is only 6 minutes from the science center.  Watch live shows and performances at the nearby Royal Oak Music Theatre.
