Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport – MID Airport
Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport is one of the many airports that serve Mexico City, specifically located at Merida, Yucatan. It was formerly known as Mérida-Rejón Airport. It is one of the four airports in the country of Mexico that has an Area Control Center. The center in CID controls air traffic that goes over the southeastern part of Mexico, usually traffic heading towards Canada, United States, South America, and Central America.

MID Airport is ASUR’s second largest airport in terms of passengers and its largest in terms of cargo. ASUR is the airport operator behind MID. The airport has undergone complete renovations in 1999 to 2001. Currently, the airport features multiple duty-free shops, specialty stores, bank counters, car rental counters, and even 24-hour medical and tourist booths. The Mexican Air Force Base is located near the airport’s runway 10. As of 2018, the airport has handled a total of 2, 451, 616 passengers. This made the international airport the 8th in the country to reach the 2 million passengers mark. Passengers that go through MID Airport are from neighboring cities such as Chochola, Abala, and even Dzidzantun.
