The Newport Center Mall is a multi-functional shopping mall and retail center located in Jersey City. The Newport Center Mall was opened in October 1987, featuring four anchors and 167 stores and attractions. One of the earliest stores operating at that time was Sears and Stern's. The mall is part of the Newport Complex, which also includes the sixth tallest building in Jersey City, New Jersey called the Newport Tower. Newport Center Mall is very accessible to many places via the Newport's station using the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. Also, the mall is served by the New Jersey Transit buses that can be routed going to Gutenberg and West New York.
