Pemba Airport (PMA) is a public airport in Pemba Island on the Zanzibar Archipelago in Tanzania. Also known as Karume Airport and Wawi Airport, it is located southeast of Chake-Chake, the capital of the island. The small air facility is owned by the government of Zanzibar and operated by the Zanzibar Airports Authority. For a few years now, the government has been toying with the idea of renaming the airport to Thabit KomboJ echa who played a major role in the Zanzibar Revolution.

Pemba Airport is a modest airport that particularly caters to small aircrafts plying the routes between Unguja, Tanga and Pemba. There are also direct local flights offered by several charter airlines traveling the Zanzibar – Pemba route and is serviced by Coastal Air and Auric Air.Ithas one runway with an asphalt surface. It operates from a simple, one-storey building. While it lacks the modern facilities, infrastructure and amenities of bigger airports, PMA offers efficient and adequate service. The other islands in the archipelago like Kiweni as well as Pembe towns such as Mkoani and Wete are areas accessible from the airport.
