Tan Son Nhat International Airport – SGN Ho Chi Minh
The busiest airport in Vietnam is the Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It served over 32 million passengers in 2016 and 38.5 million in 2018, catering the city of Ho Chi Minh and the rest of southeastern Vietnam. Among the routes that SGN Ho Chi Minh serves, the Ho Chi Minh – Hanoi route is the busiest in Southeast Asia and placed seventh in the world serving a total of 6,769,823passengers in 2017. The airport had a total capacity of 25 million only and it caused a debate whether to expand the airport or to build a new one.
Best Time to Visit
The SGN Ho Chi Minh has two concrete runways. The opening of Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s new international terminal, it gave the airport two main terminal buildings with separate sections for international and domestic flights. The new terminal has the capacity of eight to ten million passengers yearly. There are a few restaurants in both terminals in case passengers want to grab some food. Spas and rest lounge are available in the departure areas of both terminals. Medical services can also be found in the arrival and departure areas in Terminals 1 and 2. Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Khoi Street also served by the SGN Ho Chi Minh.

Some passengers don’t want to stay overnight in the airport. But that wouldn’t be a problem. There are a lot of SGN Ho Chi Minh hotels that are just close by.
