Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan Airport– SHP Airport
Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan Airport is a military airport found over 9 miles from the center of the city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province in China. It is located in the Shanhaiguan District, which features one of the major passes of the Great Wall of China. For three decades, SHP Airport was both the region’s military and commercial airport. In 2016, the construction of the Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Airport was completed and all the civil flights in the area were moved to the new airport.

The Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan Airport is equipped with a single asphalt runway that is 8,202 feet long. It is big enough to receive mid-sized passenger jets such as the Boeing 737 and the Airbus 320 who can also utilize the six aircraft parking aprons available in the airport property. In the Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan Airport’s last full year of operations in 2015, it had about 156,000 passenger boarding.
