John Wayne Airport - SNA-John Wayne
Commercial and general aviation are the main flights served at John Wayne Airport. The airport serves flights from Orange County, California as well as the greater area of Los Angeles. Owned and operated by the county, it was originally called Orange County Airport. In 1979, the airport took the name John Wayne Airport in honor of the actor John Wayne who lived in the neighboring Newport Beach who also happened to die during the same year. John Wayne’s statue was even installed in the SNA-John Wayne back in 1982.

By 2014, the airport became the second busiest airport in the whole of the greater Los Angeles area with over 9,000,000 passengers served during that year. The airport has 22 gates with the main Terminal, Thomas F. Riley Terminal divided into three areas, Terminal A, B and C. Los Angeles, Burbank and Long Beach are the nearby cities you can visit while in the area.
