South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre, Chichester, England, United Kingdom
The South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre is an educational facility located in Chichester. The facility is operated by a team of astronomy enthusiasts and was opened in 2002. The planetarium originally started in 1992 that purposed to promote astronomy and earth sciences in the UK. Eventually, in 1994, the West Sussex County Council bought land to form their ideal planetarium building. The center has a 100-seater auditorium and features shops, libraries, and astronomy displays. The centerpiece of the South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre is the dome, which projects around 4,500 stars and other celestial objects. They also have a new public show every month, preferably during school holidays.
