McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport is a county-owned public-use airport found in the east of the central business district of Brunswick, Georgia, USA. Its IATA code is SSI and was called Malcolm McKinnon Airportin the past having been named after the chairman of the County Commission when construction started in 1935. The airport commenced operation in 1938 and was a naval station during WWII. By 1947 it shut down as a naval station and became a civilian airport.
