Stansted Airport – STN
Located about 42 miles from the northeast side of Central London, England, London Stansted Airport serves the whole of London, including areas covered by the county of Essex as well. This international airport came in fourth in the list of busiest airports in the UK in 2015. During World War II, the airfield operated as a bomber airfield and maintenance depot for the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Forces. It wasn’t until 1949 when STN served as a base of some of the UK charter airlines.
Best Time to Visit
STN-Stansted Airport has flights to about 200 destinations in Africa, Middle East, and Europe. It also serves as the base for most of the European low-cost carriers, one of which is the Ryanair that flies to more than 130 destinations from Stansted Airport. There is only one main passenger terminal in the airfield, although three passenger satellites, holding the departure gate, are connected to the main terminal as well. As of 2018, the passenger statistics of Stansted Airport is at almost 28 million, a massive increase from the previous years. You can easily drive to Sutton, Longford, and Morden from the Stansted Airport (STN).

There are various accommodations surrounding STN, but the closest are the Grenways Lodge NR Stansted Airport and the Days Inn London Stansted Airport, which are within a 5-minute drive from the airfield.
You can also fly to London through the neighboring airports of Luton Airport, London City Airport, and Gatwick Airport.
