Takachiho: An Incredible Japanese Experience in Miyazaki
The city of Takachiho in Nishiusuki District, located in the northern part of Miyazaki Prefecture in Japan, has approximately 11,959 people. The river of Gokase flows from the west until the southeast part of the city. By Japanese mythology, the town is said to be the land where Ninigi went down from above, ordered by the sun goddess Amaterasu. According to the myth, the Ama-no-Iwato Shrine is the location of the cave where the goddess hid.

The best time to visit is from April to October, during the early season of spring or late fall. If you visit earlier, you can enjoy the surroundings in nature colored foliage or during the later part of the year, where it lights up to red, yellow, and orange.
