Tallahassee International Airport – TLH Tallahassee
Tallahassee Regional Airport is a government-owned airport located a few miles from downtown Tallahassee, Florida. This major airport in Leon County serves Florida’s capital as well as its surrounding neighborhoods including North Florida. In 1961, TLH-Tallahassee was inaugurated as Tallahassee Municipal Airport and replaced Dale Mabry Field, Tallahassee’s first airport, after closing its doors the same year.
Best Time to Visit
Tallahassee Regional Airport is also referred to as Tallahassee International Airport. The ironic fact is despite being dubbed as an international airport it does not serve any international flights. Several of the cities surrounding this airport such as Havana, Llyod, and Crawfordville among many others also rely on TLH-Tallahassee to get in and out of Florida. Tallahassee International Airport offers flights from Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and Silver Airways.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Aside from Tallahassee Regional Airport, other airports that serve the greater Florida include Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, Pensacola International Airport, and Jacksonville International Airport. However, the nearest airport is the Valdosta Regional Airport (VLD) located in Georgia, which is around 81 miles from Tallahassee Regional Airport.
There are several TLH-Tallahassee airport hotels around town. Near the airport and just less than five miles away is the Days Inn by Wyndham Tallahassee University Center. This hotel is conveniently located and is just a couple of minutes from popular sites, particularly Florida State University. Near the university is Governor’s Inn, another business-friendly hotel, which is walking distance from the Florida State Capitol Building and Florida Governor’s Mansion.
