Torpedo Factory Art Center is situated on the banks of the Potomac River in the town of Alexandria, in Virginia, United States. It is was a naval munitions factory that was converted into an art center and is home to the most significant number of working artists studios in the country that can be accessed by the public. Torpedo Factory Art Center houses more than eighty-two artists' studios, two workshops, and seven galleries, with more than 160 professional visual artists who work in a variation of media such as photography, ceramics, jewelry, painting, and more. Every year, the art center lets almost half-million visitors interact with its community of artists.
