What to Do & Area Attractions
Several sites in and near Ullensaker radiate regalness and power. The Akershus Fortress or the Akershus Castle is a medieval castle that provided protection and residence for the royalties in Oslo, the capital of Norway. It had a historical timeline of being a military base, prison, and currently the Prime minister's temporary office. Within the fortress is the Resistance Museum or the Akershus Museum. The small museum displays a collection of artifacts and tales of the political resistance activity of Norway during World War II. Near this historical site is the Quality Hotel Gardermoen Airport, which is also a few minutes away from the Oslo Airport. Thon Hotel Oslo Airport is similarly near the main airport in Ullensaker.
