Valras-Plage: Move Away Piña Coladas, It’s Wine by the Beach Now
Valras-Plage, France is like any other coastal towns. Its ultramarine Mediterranean coast is lined up with plenty of resort hotels, restaurants, and shops along its shore. But unbeknownst to many is that Valras-Plage was once just a beautiful fishing village that kept to its traditional culture before becoming a modernized, world-class seaside resort town.
Best Time to Visit
It is nice most months of the year over at Valras-Plage. There is plenty of sunshine to enjoy especially during the months of April to July, absolutely perfect to spend a day or two getting your tan at the beach. Every June, in honor of the town’s patron saint, the Festival of St. Peter is celebrated by the locals. Many tourists come to the town to partake in the said festival and thus, expect Valras-Plage to be crowded and hotel rates to be high-priced.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Camping La Yole is a great choice for a Valras-Plage hotel when you want to be strategically located both near the beach and the city center. Otherwise, the 4-star Les Sables Du Midi and the Hotel Le Mirador are two beachfront hotels. Valras-Plage Beaches which houses Rochelongue Beach among others is a 2.4 miles stretch of sandy shore. If you get tired of the beach and would want to learn about French history over the many centuries, head on over to Musee Agathois. Another interesting attraction that does not involve the coastal waters is wine tasting at the Mas Gabriel Winery that is about half an hour away from the town.
