Venlo: An Award-Winning City
Venlo, Netherlands is a city in Limburg that was besieged several times because of its strategic location. In 2003, it was recognized as the “Greenest City of Europe”. In 2013, it was named “Best City Centre of the Netherlands”.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Venlo is during the months of May through September, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually January, March, and June. Tourists are least likely to visit in April. One of the most anticipated events in the city is Airwalk Indoor Trance Festival, which is held every October or November. It is one of the biggest trance raves in the country.

Limburg Museum is one of the most famous attractions in the area. It is a cultural-historical museum founded in 1993. It houses archaeological artifacts from the Neolithic era onwards. It also has folklore objects, such as agricultural tools, carnival-related items, clothing, kitchen utensils, religious items, textiles, among others. Another interesting site to visit in the area is Museum van Bommel van Dam. Launched in 1971, it is a museum of modern art. It was established by Maarten and Reina van Bommel-van Dam, a couple who began collecting modern art pieces after World War II (WWII).
