Veracruz International Airport (VER) is commonly referred to as General Heriberto Jara International Airport. VER is a military and public airport that handles both international and national air traffic for Veracruz. In 2018, VER handled a total of 1,488,569 passengers.
VER is located on the outskirts of Veracruz and was named in honor of Heriberto Jara Corona, a former governor of Veracruz. This airport serves the cities of Veracruz, Las Bajadas, and La Antigua among many others.
