Tourists are least likely to visit in November. One of the most famous events in the area is Louisiana Peach Festival, which is held every fourth Friday and Saturday of June. The idea for the festival was born in the 1930s when commercial peach orchards were situated in Lincoln. The first festival was held in 1951 and the rest is history. Common features of the event include art exhibits, arts and crafts shows, cooking contests, and eating contests.
