Zilina: An Appealing Historic Nucleus
Situated in the Upper Váh region at the confluence of the Váh, Kysuca, and Rajčanka Rivers is the city of Zilina, Slovakia. It is an industrial city with a picturesque center all set off by the tremendous mountainscapes of the Malá Fatra range. The town is also an excellent base for exploring the Malá Fatra National Park’s cliff-perched forests and hiking trails. Stroll through Marianske Namestie or St. Mary’s Square, a place with real splendor, and has been the center of the city’s life since the 1300s. Visitors can go up until the castle’s chapel as well as the museum.
