Best Time to Visit
The Aarhus Airport was originally a military base for the Germans established in 1943 during World War II. In the Cold War, it also served as headquarters for the Danish and other air forces. As of the 2000s onward, the Aarhus Airport still serves as a venue for military training exercises. The airport terminal underwent several rounds of renovations from 2007 to 2016. The airport itself is relatively small and as of 2013, carried only 459,913 passengers. Nonetheless, it still offers quaint and homey amenities, including a garden where guests can relax before their flights. Aarhus Airport is surrounded by several Danish cities, including Easterby, Farvang, Grenna, Horning, Egaa, Ajstrup, and the Favrskov Municipality.
