Afton: A Small Town in Virginia Overlooking the Mountains
Afton, Virginia is a humble town situated at the foot of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains. It is located between Nelson and Albemarle counties in Virginia. Best Time to Visit
Held every July, the Horse & Hound Wine Festival is a unique event that takes place near the Blue Ridge Parkway and puts the spotlight on locals’ furry companions. In August, more than 50 breweries join the annual Microfestivus Craft Beer Festival. Another event is the Henry Street Heritage Festival, which pays homage to the area’s African American roots through cuisine and performing arts. It is held in September.

You can also explore the public parks located within the Blue Ridge Mountains. Augusta Military Academy Museum is likewise an interesting landmark with its collection of priceless artifacts.
