Queen Alia International Airport – AMM Amman
Queen Alia International Airport is known as the main and largest airport in Jordan. It is a major public airport that is located in Amman, Jordan and serves as a major hub for Jordan Aviation. Its airport code, AMM, stands for the country capital city’s name Amman. The airport was named after Queen Alia, the third wife of King Hussein who died in a helicopter crash in 1977. It was in 1983 when the airport was built, and has undergone two expansions, one in 2007, and the other in 2014. As of 2017, the airport has handled around 7,914,703 passengers.
