Ashgabat International Airport– ASB

The Ashgabat International Airport (ASB) is one of the three international airports in Turkmenistan. Formerly known as Saparmurat Türkmenbaşy International Airport, ASB is located approximately 6 miles northwest of the capital Ashgabat. The ASB-Ashgabat International Airport is owned by the Government of Turkmenistan and is operated by the Turkmenistan Airlines.

As of 2016, the Ashgabat International Airport has served a total of 1,300,000 million passengers. The airport includes passenger waiting rooms, service passport, customs, border control, a 24-hour reference service, VIP and CIP rooms, a business club, and a ticket office. It also houses shops, bars, fast-food outlets, currency exchange, a new baggage handling conveyor system, international telephone, a mother and child room and the offices of the airlines. At present, the Ashgabat International Airport services 7 airlines with destinations to Minsk, Ürümqi, Dubai, Frankfurt, Moscow, and Istanbul. Meanwhile, the Turkmenistan Airlines serves a total of 20 destinations to and from ASB.
