Avignon: Once the Center of Roman Catholic
Early 1300’s, Avignon, France is the center of Roman Catholic. It is a seat of papal power for seven decades. Pope Clement V lived here when there is chaos in Rome. This moment in the history of Avignon left a legacy in terms of architecture. Found in the banks of Rhone, this small town has a medieval feel to it. Best Time to Visit
The months of June to August are the best months to visit Avignon. This is when the flowers making the walking city more beautiful. Avignon receives rainfall in October. The much-awaited festival in town is Festival d’Avignon and it happens in July. The annual art festival happens in the courtyard of Palais des Papes. It is the largest one in France and lasts for a few weeks. There are cheap hotels that are available during this season.

There are quite a number of attractions aside from the UNESCO heritage site Palais De Papes. Walk along the St. Benezet Medieval Bridge and enjoy the sunrise.
