Basel: Switzerland’s Historically-Beaming City
Often spelled as Basle too, Basel, Switzerland is a gorgeous city lying on the river Rhine northwest of the country. This year, the city was declared by Mercer as one of the ten world’s most livable cities. With myriad of European cultures clashing, Basel is well-known for its many museums and historical attractions. Merely just three and a half kilometers away from the heart of the city is the Montbelard-Courcelles Airport in France.
Best Time to Visit
Considered the warmest place in all of Switzerland, Basel experiences hot temperature especially during the summers and mildly cool one during the winters, with minimal snow. It is ideal to visit the city between May to October. Do note that between these months, it is summer season thus it is likely to have many tourists around and that Basel, Switzerland hotels and accommodation may hike up their prices. You do get to enjoy Europäisches Jugendchor Festival though when you come to visit during the summer.
