Late spring is the highly recommended time to visit Bern as the days are long and weather is good during this season. Bern has a vacation season that runs from July to mid-August where some restaurants close for a time. Visitors who want to enjoy the most of Bern may want to avoid visiting the city during this season. The city celebrates several festivals, one of the more important ones is the Bern Carnival celebrated in February or March where human participants dress as bears.

Dive into the history of the capital of Switzerland with a visit to the Bern Historical Museum, the second largest in the country.
